6V - Senegal - 03.03.12

Members of the Saly Amateur Radio Club Station (ADRASEC) in Mbour will activate the special callsign 6V7SIX to celebrate
the newly allocated band 50-51 MHz in Senegal, recently obtained at WRC-12.
This is a temporary authorization valid until the new ITU Radio Regulations (WRC-12) come into force, normally by the end of 2012. The 6V7SIX Radio Club operators will be listening to 50.110 MHz (Intercontinental calling frequency) and 50.210 MHz (French calling frequency). The 6V7SIX callsign is the first, and for now, the only station authorized to operate on the
6-meter band in Senegal.

9Q - Rep. of Congo - 03.03.12

Barney, ZS4U (ZS6TQ), will be active as 9Q6/ZS4U from the Democratic Republic of Congo (Grid Loc. KI16) between 14 March and 8 April, 2012. QRV on 40-6m CW, SSB and PSK, between 1300-1500 UTC daily, as work permits. QSL via K3IRV, direct preferred, Bureau ok.


A3 - Tonga - 03.03.12

07/03/2012:  Sigi DL7DF, and crew plan to be active from the Kingdom of Tonga (OC-049) as A35YZ from 7-24 March, 2012. They will be active with several stations on 160m to 6m - CW, SSB with one station exclusively dedicated to RTTY, PSK31 and SSTV. Operators include Manfred DK1BT, Georg DK7LX, Wolf DL4WK, Reiner DL7KL, Sigi DL7DF, Juergen DL7UFN Frank DL7UFR, Jan SP3CYY and Leszek SP3DOI. Pilot for this DXpedition will be Bernd, DF3CB. CE0Y - Easter Is. - 03.03.12

Tim, NL8F, will be active as CE0Y/NL8F from Easter Island (SA-001) before and after the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 24-25th).
Tim informs OPDX that he is trying to get a CE0Y callsign. Activity outside of the contest will mainly be on 17 and 12 meters, but he does have capabilities for 80-6 meters. Depending if he can tune on 75 meters, he will try the DX window on the gray-line times. Operations will be mostly SSB and maybe some Digital depending on quiet times. Also, during the contest, he may operate as a Single-Op/Single-Band (10m)/Low-Power entry, but if conditions are not right, he will operate as an All-Band entry. He will have an amp with him, but will only use it outside of the contest. Reports indicate that he will be there until March 26th, and may also activate one or two other South American IOTAs before he departs to Chile on April 3rd. QSL as of press time is via his home callsign, but this may change. More details are forthcoming.


E5 - South Cook Is. - 03.03.12

Operators Graeme/VK4FI and Alan/VK4WR will be active as E51GMH and E51BKM, respectively, from the South Cook Islands between April 8-27th. Graeme informs OPDX that they will activate Rarotonga Island (OC-013) and Aitutaki Island (OC-083). Their main band of interest is 6 meters, and for the HF bands, 40/20/17/15/12/10 meters. They will use and IC-706 and a FT-450 into a 5 element Yagi for 6m and a OCF Dipole.
Modes will be CW and SSB only, no amplifiers - 100 watts only. QSLs go to VK4FI (see QRZ.com info - 2 USDs for postage).


GJ - Jersey - 03.03.12

Operators Craig/K3PLV and Pete/K8PT will once again be active as MJ/K3PLV and MJ/K8PT, respectively, from Jersey starting March 27th through April 3rd. They will have amplifiers and directional antennas on most HF bands and will have the capability to operate 160-2 meters using modes CW, SSB, RTTY and perhaps some PSK. NH8/S - Swains Is. - 03.03.12

A large team of experienced operators (AA4NN, DJ7JC, DL3DXX, I8NHJ, K5AB, K6MM, K6TD, K9CT, KH7Y, N2TU, N6HC, NA6M, ND2T,  NI6T, SM5AQD, W4BUW, W6KK, W8GEX, WB4JTT and  WB9Z) will be active as NH8S from Swains Island (OC-200) on 4-18 September.  They plan to operate six stations, from 160 to 6 metres on all  modes.

OZ - Denmark - 03.03.12

Stefan, DL7AOS will be active as 5P5K  from Romo Island (EU-025) on 10-24 March. He will be QRV on 80-6 metres, and will  take part in the Russian DX Contest (17-18 March). QSL via DL7AOS, direct or bureau.


P4- Aruba - 03.03.12

Operators XYL Hiroko/JH3PBL, Masumi/JA3AVO and two other operators will be active from the on Aruba (SA-036) between May 9-14th. Operations will be from "Cook's Radio Retreat" http://www.p49v.com.
XYL Hiroko/JH3PBL, Masumi/JA3AVO will be active as P40U (SSB) and P40X (CW, Digital), respectively. The other two operators have their callsigns pending and will operate SSB only. QSL via their home callsigns. For more details and updates, watch Masumi's Blog page at: http://ja3avo.blog81.fc2.com


TZ - Mali - 03.03.12

Members of the "Italian Dxpedition Team" will be active as TZ5T from Mali between April 12-27th. Operators mentioned are Silvano/I2YSB, Vinicio/IK2CIO, Angelo/IK2CKR, Marcello/IK2DIA and Stefano/IK2HKT.
The Software Management (real-time log online) by Giacomo/IH9GPI and the Pilot station is Art/IK7JWY. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW,

SSB and RTTY. Suggested frequencies are:
CW - 1823, 3505, 7005, 10106, 14025, 18075, 21025, 24895 and 28025 kHz
SSB - 3780, 7056/7180, 14195, 18145, 21295, 24945 and 28495 kHz
RTTY - 7041, 10142, 14080, 18103, 21080, 24915 and 28080 kHz

V2 - Antigua - 03.03.12

Babs, DL7AFS (V21FS) and Lot, DJ7ZG will once again be active as V21ZG from the Villa Sundowerns, near Pottery Village, island of Antigua (NA-100, WLOTA 1118, WW Loc FK97CC) from 5-31 March 2012. Focus on 16-6m if sunspots allow - mainly RTTY, PSK and SSB. V21ZG will look especially for JA and QRP stations. QSL via the German QSL-Bureau DARC to DL7AFS, or direct. VP5 - Turks & Caicos Is. - 03.03.12

Mark, WA0MHJ, will be active as VP5/WA0MHJ after the ARRL DX SSB Contest between March 5-7th. Activity will be on
160-10 meters, as well as 6 meters, using CW and RTTY. QSL via LoTW or via WA0MHJ, direct or by the Bureau. ADDED NOTE: Mark will team up with Glenn/W0GJ and Scott/K0MD to be active as VP5H during thee ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 3-4th) as a Multi-Single entry. QSL VP5H via W0GJ. The two operators will also be active outside of the contest signing VP5/homecall.

XV - Vietnam - 03.03.12

Retu, OH4MDY (OX3RZ/XU7MDY/XV2MDY), will once again be active as XV2RZ from Southeast Vietnam between March 14th and April 16th.
Activity is usually on 80-6 meters using the "normal modes" (CW and SSB).
However, Retu states that this time he will focus on the Digital modes.

YB - Indonesia - 03.03.12

Joppy, YB8XM, and others will be active as YB8Y from Ohoiew Island, Kai Kecil Islands (OC-221, WW Loc. PI64HH). Plans are to be QRV on 160m to 6m, all modes, SSB CW and RTTY, between 20-27 March, 2012. They will also participate in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (24-25 March) as a Multi-Two entry.
