SPECIAL NEWS - NEW ONE in 70 MHz from Italy to South Africa

 

We are happy to inform the ham community that the 1st ever qso in 70 MHz from Italy to South Africa has taken place on April 22th 2012 at around 18.12 UTC between Franco, IZ8DWF and Paul, ZS6NK.

Qso was in ISCAT during a short E-TEP opening.

Congratulations to both!
 

5X – Uganda - 22.04.12

From the beginning of May until June 2012 (exact length of stay unknown) Freddy F5IRO is on assignment to Uganda.
Contacts has been made with David 5X1D (ex-KH9AE) who is assisting Freddy obtain his ticket / callsign.
Once arrived, he will be using a K3 and probably vertical or dipoles, space permitting at the location. Activity on CW, upper HF bands, especially on 10 MHz in the evening (5X = GMT + 3) and possibly some PSK (add by Sixitalia - any 6m activity?).

QSL via F8DFP bureau or direct.

 

6O – Somalia - 21.04.12

Darko, actually J28AA, plans to be active again from Somalia between May 25-31, this time using SSB, RTTY and 50Mhz.

 

CY0 – Sable Island - 18.04.12

Al, VE1AWW is back on Sable island. Says he needs to replace the feedline for the 40/80m antenna, but up and running on 20-6m so far.
QSL via H/C.

 

F - France - 23.04.12

Be, F8GRY, will be active as F8GRY/p from Re Island starting Monday, April 23rd. His length of stay was not mentioned.
Activity will be mainly on the Topband starting an hour before sundown throughout the night and on VHF during the daytime.
He will operate on the other bands, but on requests. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the Bureau.

 

OZ - Denmark - 21.04.12

ON4CAQ, ON6KN, ON6VP, ON7FH and ON7KS will be active as 5P5Y from Lolland Island (EU-029) from 29 April and 5 May. They will operate on the HF and VHF bands with four stations and a  large number of antennas. QSL via ON4AMM, direct or bureau.


VE - Canada - 23.04.12

Operators Dick/AH6EZ and Harry/K9DXA plan to be active as YV0/homecall from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut Province[Canada's largest and newest federal territory], between June 21st and July 2nd.
Activity will be on 80-6 meters, with a focus on 30/17/12 meter bands using CW, SSB and RTTY. The duo plans to make a side trip to Marble Island (NA-185) for a few hours sometime between June 25-29th. On July 1st, during Radio Canada Day Contest, both Dick and Harry will be active as VY0RAC. VP2M - Montserrat - 20.04.12

John, KB4CRT (SMIRK #3932), plans to be active as VP2MRT from Gingerbread Hill, St. Peters Parish, island of Montserrat (NA-103, WLOTA 1475, WW Loc. FK86VS) from 6-12 June, 2012. This will include an entry in the ARRL June VHF QSO Party (9-11 June). Outside the contest look for John to be QRV on 80-2m SSB, some CW, maybe PSK, looking especially for AS and OC. QSL via KB4CRT, direct only. Logs will be uploaded to LoTW within a week of returning.
