8P - Barnados - 4.30.11

Fred, PY2XB will be active as 8P9XB from Barbados (NA-021) on  8-21 May. He will operate CW, SSB and RTTY on  80-6  metres  (beacon  on 50.099 MHz). QSL via PT7WA.

C9 - Angola - 4.26.11

Good Morning,
I have recently started working in Mozambique - grid KG64fb - and am slowly getting a 6m station together - every piece of equipment has to be smuggled in over many trips :) . In the coming week starting 1/5/2011 i will be transmitting low power PSK31 during the evenings and during weekends when not at work. 50w into dipole.
At this stage there is no allocation for 50Mhz in Mozambique so will keep the QRO (1kw into 2 6M5 yagi) for when the band opens up and hope no one complains. So if people periodically listens in my direction i would appreciate any feedback.

G - United Kingdom - 4.29.11

Camb-Hams members Bob G1SAA, Terry G3VFC, Martin G3ZAY, Colin G4ERO, Colin G8TMV, Mark M0MJH, Rob M0VFC, Steve M1ACB and Gavin M1BXF will be active on the 1-8th of May 2011 from the Isle of Arran (IOTA EU-123, IOSA CL01, SCOTIA CS14). QTH will be a rented cottage on the west of the island near Balliekine (WW Loc. IO75HO). As usual most HF bands will be activated with SSB, data and some CW. VHF wise they will be on 6m and 4m SSB/data (JT6m) and being a little more south than Harris they will again activate 2m both SSB/data (FSK441). If they have time, they will also be active on 2m and 70cm satellites. This year the CRG (Cambridgeshire Repeater Group) has a new callsign G6PYE which they will use alongside the traditional G3PYE, as the activation is in Scotland the prefix becomes GS for a club station in Scotland. JX - Jan Mayen - 4.28.11

The 2011 Jan Mayen Dx-peditions JX7VPA will take place around july 4-16. The crew will have abt 500w and A 5 el Yagi on 6m. Frequencies CW: 50094 (listening UP): SSB 50120 (listening UP).

KH0 – Northern Mariana Is. - 4.27.11

Yoshi JJ8DEN plans to be active from the Coconut Village Hotel on Rota island as KH0PR between April 27 to May 8, 2011. He will be QRV on CW, RTTY & PSK; 160-6m.

MM - Maritime  Mobile - 5.3.11

Captain Yuri Bodrov, UT1FG/MM, wrapped up his 6 month voyage that took him across the Atlantic Ocean 3 times and around the Cape of Good Hope in South America and through the Panama Canal on his ship, the Mottler. He operated on the HF bands, 6 meters and also activated a few hundred grids to the delight of many satellite operators in Europe, South and North America. Walt, WP4T, and his ham radio family met up with him in San Juan, Puerto Rico, his final port before flying home. Captain Bodrov gave them the red carpet tour. SV5 – Dodecanese - 5.2.11

Fred, PA1FJ, will be active as SV5/PA1FJ/P from Karpathos (EU-001) between May 8-14th. Activity will be on 40-6 meters using CW and SSB. He will use his Yaesu FT-817 into a Buddistick antenna and a 2x 5m dipole. QSL via the Dutch QSL Bureau.

ZF – Cayman Islands - 4.27.11

Look for Bob W5UQ as ZF2UQ and Bill W5SJ as ZF2EZ to be on air from July 11th to approx July 18th, 2011. They plan to operate in the VHF contest during the weekend of July 16th and mainly on six meters therefater. Otherwise, they will be using mainly CW and some SSB on the HF.

The 1st. EU-NA qso this year was on April 27th at 1747z from CT1HZE and K1TOL using B/S conditions in mid Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean area. (N8OFS, GOT6?)
