3B8 - Mauritius Is.



Mart, DL6UAA, is again active as 3B8MM and is trying to do some 6m qso. Look for him on HF band (mostly on CW) and on 6m. Time to time he'll be on beacon mode around 50110.

9A - Croatia - 4.1.11

Alessandro IZ4AMS (9A8AMS), Sergio IZ4BBF, Gus IK4RQJ and Luca IK3AES will be active from the island of Sveti Nikola (EU-110) on 7-15 May. Look for 9A/IK4RQJ, 9A/IZ4BBF and 9A/IK3AES to operate CW, SSB an digital modes on 40-10 metres, while 9A8AMS  will concentrate on 160, 80 and 6  metres. QSL via home calls.

JD1 - Ogasawara

A Mokoto JI5RPT (JD1BLY), Harry JG7PSJ (JD1BMH) and Masa JE4SMQ (JD1BMT) will be active from Chichijima (AS-031), Ogasawara between 30 April and 13 May as follows:

JD1BMH   4 May-13 May

JW - Svalbard - 4.1.11

Morten, LA9DFA will be active as JW9DFA from Spitsbergen (EU-026) on 14-19 September. He will be QRV on the HF bands and possibly 6m using mainly CW, with some RTTY and SSB. He will participate in the Scandinavian Activity Contest CW  (17-18  September) as JW3C. QSL both calls via LA9DFA, direct or bureau, and LoTW.

PP0T - Trinidade Island - 4.4.11

Members of the Cantareira DX Group are in the planning stages of a DXpedition to Trindade Island (SA-010) sometime this year. Specific dates have not been mentioned, but the callsign PP0T has been announced. Junior, PY2ZA, states on QRZ.com, "I'm looking for sponsors to help the DXpedition. There is the possibility of a long period of activity. We also need equipment for installation of a beacon on the island." He also mentions that if they don't find sponsors, there will not be a DXpedition. Trindade Island is ranked number 53 on the "DX Magazine's 2010 Most Wanted List". XV - Vietnam - 4.2.11


Retu, OH4MDY will be QRV as XV2RZ from April 4 to 17. Activity will be on 80 to 6 meters using CW and SSB. QSL direct via XU7MDY.

ZD8 - Ascension Is. - 4.1.11

VP8DMH was QRV from the British Antarctic Survey's King Edward Point Base, close to the old whaling village of Grytviken,  South Georgia, on 23 March (He had a 6m EME qso with W7JG, w1) . This was a stop-off en route from Rothera to Port Stanley, Falkland Islands, at the end of Mike's posting to Rothera. QSL via G0VGS.
