K - U.S.A. - 5.23.11

Starting Thursday 26 May, David Schaubert, NJ0W, will begin a 46-day 6m Grid DXpedition covering 90 different grid squares in the Rocky Mountains, Southwest Deserts, and Great Plains. Over 400 hours of operating time have been planned. Within his scheduled hours of operation, David will operate WSJT modes (mostly FSK441 meteor scatter) when there is no sporadic-E happening at his location, and SSB/CW when there is.
See David’s web page at http://www.6t6kix.com/pages/ham/nj0w.htm for complete details, as well as for unanticipated updates to the schedule due to the always-entertaining antics of the ubiquitous Mr. Murphy.
Time is a critical commodity for WSJT meteor-scatter operation because the technology is speed-limited by its inherent design. Therefore, please READ AND RE-READ David’s published WSJT operating procedures on the above page.. DON’T WASTE EVERYBODY’S TIME by not knowing what you’re doing!! If you have questions, ask them now on the FFMA or WSJTGROUP list. If you’re not an FFMA or WSJTGROUP subscriber, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FFMA or http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WSJTgroup and sign up. Don’t cross-post replies or questions to all five boards listed in the TO header, as this will generate list traffic that will be unappreciated by many.
Wishing David and all of us the best of luck!

K - U.S.A - 5.26.11

I will be operating from DM57 for the weekend of Jun 3 - 5. I expect to be set up and on the air by late in the afternoon on Friday and will tear down to return home after M/S stops on Sunday AM (unless we get significant Es - then I'll stay as late as I can). I may stop briefly in DM56 on the way home - timing will depend on how the band was in DM57.  If the band is good in DM56, I will stay there as late as I can. I will be following the same procedure as NJ0W on his web page (see http://www.6t6kix.com/pages/ham/nj0w.htm) except I will be QSYing up to 50.270 (if this is a bad frequency, please let me know).  I'm not sure about Friday evening, but I expect to be on the air Saturday and Sunday starting about 1200Z.
I will only have 100 W and a 3 el yagi at about 25'.  Es openings will take precedence over M/S.  I will not have Internet access and I don't expect to have cell service. If you have a request for a specific time or frequency, please send me an email and I'll see what I can do.
Please keep me busy! 73 Bud

K - U.S.A. - 5.29.11

Below is the Grid Trip schedule I have come up with after changing my departure one day later. In a few weeks, I will do a short grid trip to catch DM03/04/05 for those needing them. K7MAC is planning to do some of the  grids I removed from my original plan a little later this summer.
I will be playing the CN77/78 portion of this with some flexibility built in so I can get those most out of whatever Es I luck into during those two days..
Send comments and suggestions today direct to Questo indirizzo e-mail è protetto dallo spam bot, abilitare Javascript per vederlo , please.   I hope I can run the amplifier from most stops.  May The  Rocks & Es Be With Us!
